Yesterday we finally sailed the last race of championship with a different wind direction, SW, which let the competition be different than the usual drag race. Unfortunately our start was bad and after tacking several times to look for a free lane we broke rule 15 after a lee-bow against a french boat. The Jury was there and we had to make a 2 turns penalty. We were almost last after that. We recovered well to finish 28th, but our near opponents in the rank sailed in the front of the fleet so we lost 2 positions, from 8th to a disappointing 10th.
Congratulations to Uka Uka, Alina and Blue Moon. They were definetly the fastest and the most consistent in the starts, which was sooo important in such a big fleet.
The next event on the 24 will be the world championship in Annapolis(23-28 october), where I will call tactics again for Carlo Fracassoli on the new boat "Gullisara".
